Seven Artisans Bring Arts and Eats to Kellogg Bird Sanctuary |
Free October 17–18 event pairs handmade work, nature trails and a Saturday Kids Makers Market |

Handmade art and an autumn visit to the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary will come together when the Arts and Eats Tour returns October 17 and 18.
The W.K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuary will serve as a central venue from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, with free admission and no registration required.
Organizers say seven local artisans will display and sell work at the sanctuary: Avolio GlassWerks, Anna Barnhart, Boslar Glass and Lapidary Arts, Flattail Creek Studio, Maryellen Hains Studio, Turn Turn Turn and The Whole Nine Yards.
The mix brings glass, lapidary work, studio art and other handcrafted pieces into a setting known for waterfowl, trails and conservation education.
On Saturday, October 17, a Kids Makers Market will add work created by young artists ages 6 to 17.
The youth market gives emerging makers a public place to show what they have created while visitors shop directly from local artists.
The sanctuary is located at 12685 East C Avenue in Augusta, within Calhoun County and a short drive from Battle Creek.
Arts and Eats is a self-guided regional tour organized by the Thornapple Arts Council of Barry County, connecting visitors with farms, restaurants, galleries and central art venues.
That format lets guests build their own route and combine the sanctuary stop with other participating destinations across the region.
Visitors planning to explore the grounds should dress for October weather and allow time for both the artisan displays and the sanctuary's outdoor areas.
The event offers a low-cost way to support working makers, encourage young artists and spend time in a natural setting.
