Apple Fest: The Start of Crafting Season in Coldwater |
From doll fashions to woodwork and fresh-baked bread, Apple Fest sets the tone for the season. |
For craftersin southern Michigan, the fall season doesn’t officially begin until Apple Fest in Coldwater.
It might be the southern edge of our coverage area here at the Cereal City Crafters Collective, but for my family it has always been the perfect kickoff to crafting season.
In fact, my wife marks the occasion by setting up her booth and sharing her latest doll fashions, you can see more of her work anytime at tinyfashiontimes.com.
Apple Fest has a little something for everyone: the smell of fresh apples drifting through the air, rows of booths showcasing handmade goods, and plenty of smiling faces strolling through the crisp autumn sunshine.
It’s also a reminder that the busy holiday shopping season is right around the corner, and local crafters are gearing up in a big way.
As I walked through this year’s show, a few makers really stood out and deserve an honorable mention.
First was Old Geezer Woodwork oldgeezerwoodwork.com, with beautiful wall hangings that carried the kind of love and craftsmanship you can’t miss.
Then there was North Wind Bakery, whose apple cinnamon sourdough had the perfect balance of warmth and flavor, it was a loaf worth savoring.
And I can’t forget CraftyOne.com, who displayed stunning wood carvings that blended artistry with tradition.
Of course, there were dozens more talented crafters, bakers, and makers who deserve recognition.
That’s exactly why we launched the Cereal City Crafters Collective Newsletter, to keep you connected with the incredible talent across our community.
Each week we feature makers, showcase upcoming shows, and share resources to help your small craft business grow.
If you’re a crafter—or just love supporting them—make sure you’re subscribed.
The best of the season is still to come! |
